Before I catch up on blogging... which I seriously need to do... I have to share a quick thought from last weekend spent at home on the ranch.One of my new favorite songs is Miranda Lambert's "The House that built Me." The lyrics are really moving and I can completely identify with her...
I realized that no matter how long I am away... my home will always be in Stephens County, Texas. I feel more at home going to feed cows with Dad than I ever did walking the halls of Capitol Hill.
Although I love my job and I love my life in DC, I will always be a ranch girl at heart. I am so lucky to be able to feel at home in Texas and at home in our nation's capital.
Thankfully, whenever I feel "lost in this ole world"... I can always sit on the front steps of the ranch house and remember exactly "who I am."
