I was first drawn into the world of Sterling Cooper after I saw a promo for the show during an old movie on AMC. After they started winning multiple awards, I was really intrigued...
My friend Callie had been watching and she assured me that I couldn't really understand it until I'd watched all the episodes, so I started from the beginning. I was hooked from the beginning. The 60's costumes, the working lunch complete with dirty martini, the men in their hats, and the ads they come up with. It's amazing how much women have evolved in the past 40 years... thank goodness!
I really love Joan and Peggy... they are by far my favorite women. Joan rules the roost at SCDP and Peggy is the only one in the office who commands Don's respect. This season is definitely shaping up to be an interesting one with all the things going on in the lives of the Mad Men and Women... I cannot wait to see what Matthew Weiner does with them.
Also, the show was nominated for 17 emmys this year... I can't wait to watch and see who wins!
