This past weekend was full of concerts at Nissan Pavillion.... After a rough week at work, I was glad to have a reason not to go into the office for a few days!
On Saturday, we met up with some friends to see George Strait play. Upon driving into the parking lot, it was clear that the rednecks from West Virginia had decided to join us for the day. I have never seen that many black felt hats in the summertime (huge faux paus in my book!)
We tailgated and made it in the gates just in time to watch Julianne Hough's last number-- we saw all of Blake Shelton before George came on. About the time George took the stage, we started to feel the raindrops.... and after about 45 minutes, we were standing underneath the blanket we'd brought to sit on and trying to stay as dry as possible.
We made a pact to leave after hearing The Chair or Marina del Rey... whichever came first. When we heard " Well excuse me... but I think you've got my chair" we knew it was time to head to the car and warm clothes!
This weekend was also Sam's birthday.... and all she really wanted for her special day was to see Gwen Stefani and No Doubt play on her birthday. We ventured out to Nissan Pavillion again on Sunday afternoon for more tailgating and a little different crowd... instead of black cowboy hats, we were surrounded by teenage girls in clothes my father would never have approved of!
Gwen and the guys put on an incredible show... she's still so cool! Not only is she incredibly talented musically-- but she's got a great marriage, two beautiful boys, and a clothing line to boot. She was doing pushups on stage before "I'm just a girl"-- I was super impressed!
A fantastic weekend... now it's time to buckle down until after my conference in Florida.

What a weekend of extremes...Sounds like so much fun!!
