This year I returned to the Virginia Gold Cup races after a terrible experience 3 years ago. May 2007 was cold, rainy and windy... and there was only one jacket to be shared between 4 girlfriends. May 2010 was a much different picture... the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day to be at the races!We had joked all week about the "Come on Dover" part of My Fair Lady... so that was the theme of our trip to The Plains.
Lots of ladies and Eric gathered at my friend Carrie's house to prepare for the day. We took a really fun picture of our group!
We arrived and got settled on a blanket while we admired the cute older couple on the hillside behind us... we decided that next year we'll have to bring at least a table, if not flowers for our table!

We ate great food, had some sangria and watched the horse races... it was a beautiful day to spend with friends. I am so grateful to have these gals (and Eric) in my life! This is my favorite photo of the day- I love me some Emily Eppright!
